Adam Bennett, Managing Partner
Prior to founding Bennett Capital Partners, Mr. Bennett was with Heritage Partners, a private equity firm in Boston with over $1.4 billion under management, focused on the acquisition of family run businesses. While at Heritage, Mr. Bennett was responsible for evaluating multiple investment opportunities including spearheading due diligence and negotiation efforts.
Prior to Heritage, Mr. Bennett was with Capital Resource Partners (CRP), a private equity firm in Boston with over $1.1 billion under management, focused on recapitalization and growth capital investing in middle market companies. While at CRP, Mr. Bennett was responsible for sourcing transaction opportunities and developing relationships with business owners, structuring investments, and managing portfolio companies post-investment.
Prior to CRP, Mr. Bennett worked as an M&A investment banker at Wachovia Securities (formerly First Union Securities/Bowles Hollowell Conner & Co.) in Charlotte where he provided middle-market growth companies with M&A and capital raising advice. Mr. Bennett received a Master of Business Administration degree from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia where he was a recipient of the Frank Genovese Fellowship. Mr. Bennett also graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Economics.
Between June 2007 and February 2009, Mr. Bennett was responsible for leading the strategic sale of his family’s business, The Maiman Company, to a $4.8 billion revenue public company. During this process, Mr. Bennett was successfully able to negotiate and structure a private label and purchase option agreement which led to the eventual sale, representing a superior return and outcome to the selling shareholders.
